I'm Heather and I'm so glad you're here! I'm the owner and lead photographer of Grace + Honey Photo!

Photography has always been a part of my life. I’ve long believed in the power of photos to freeze a moment in time and bring you right back to how it felt. I was the friend who always had a camera in hand, documenting the moments big and small long before I ever called this my career.

Becoming a mama changed everything, especially the way I photograph. I now see sessions less as “posing” and more as storytelling. I love observing how each family connects, interacts, and shows love in their own unique way. Give two families the same prompt and you’ll get two completely different stories — and that’s the magic. Documenting those authentic, in-between moments is my favorite part of what I do.

Hi Bestie!

LET'S CHAT

xo, Heather

I took my first photography class in high school, learned the basics, and then didn’t pick up a camera again for years. In 2017, while searching for a creative outlet, I asked for a camera for Christmas and decided to teach myself photography all over again... This time with intention.

Since then, I’ve poured myself into learning everything I could, investing in education, workshops, and plenty of late nights at Google and YouTube University. Looking back at my early work now, I’m incredibly proud of how far I’ve come and the growth that led me here.

Before Grace + Honey Photo officially existed, my family and friends were my models — weekend after weekend. Eventually, they lovingly told me, “We can’t take any more photos for you… please make this a business.”

I resisted at first, but the idea of this brand and what I wanted it to be never left me. One day, I finally sent a text to my mom and sisters: “What do you think of the name Grace + Honey Photo?” And just like that, GHP was born.

I’m endlessly grateful for the people who believed in me before I believed in myself, and for every family who has trusted me to document their story.

My story

we don't just document how it looked,
we document how it felt!
